Maybe you have to be Southern to get into Okra. The gooey texture takes getting used to. With enough Braggs and red pepper it all got eaten but no rave reviews from any of my family. So I rated it just V. Maybe if I had used fresh instead of frozen okra it would have been better.
Well, I've gotten a little behind on cooking the recipes in the book but I have been in the kitchen quite a bit with my grandaughter, Lewella. We made a gingerbread house fully decorated and a train cake with all the cars from engine to caboose. We had so much fun adorning it with candies and colored frosting. I should have taken a photo for you. Back to serious cooking tomorrow......

Oh Ruth, that sounds like some great times with Lewella and some forever memories. Yes, you should have taken photos, espeically for her. You could do a coffee table book for her one day they she would cherish forever. Oh, and Sam said he was coming up this week. Would you ask him to let Bill know in advance so he can reschedule his calls. Tell him we SO appreicate all he is doing for us. Love you both TONS!
ReplyDeleteGod spared Bill's life yesterday. The forklift chock slid out from under the wheel because of the snow and Bill and Gene were in front of it. Bill did not even know what was happening. I was SCREAMING get out of there and panicked and could not get to him in time but Gene grabbed his arm and pulled him out of the way as Bill was falling backwards right in front of the forklift tire like he was a wet noodle. The strength he had as displayed was amazing. I am so thankful Gene was here. PLEASE pray for our safety and that God will allow us to finish getting the walls up before the weather gets worse. Love and appreicate you both SO much. Ruth wish you were here. I could use a hug from you. You always give me such peace being around you.
